Welcome. This is a growing collection of short biographies and stories about European designers working in Sydney in the post World War II years. The Other Moderns is also an exhibition, The Moderns held at the Museum of Sydney, from July to November 2017 and a book, published in 2017, which can be purchased here.

Many of the stories from the book and exhibition are here in short form, but this site also collects the biographies of some of the many emigre designers that were not able to be included. Many other stories remain to be told, so please leave comments or further information to share with others.
